Where to meet for Charter Trip:
We will usually meet you at National Park Dock Cruz Bay, a few stops from the ferry dock at 8:00am for BVI charters and 9:00 for USVI charters, 10:00am for half day USVI charters. For BVI charters there is a new process and the captain will reach out to you for the customs information in advance, make sure your phone number and email in the booking are correct, if not reach out to him on 340-626-2859
Other pickup and drop off points are possible. If you are coming in on a Cruise Ship to St. Thomas and looking for a day trip, we can also pick you up at American Yacht Harbour Fuel Dock in Red Hook. There is an extra charge of 50$ from our end and they charge 55$ each way. So 160$ more for AYH pickup.
The parking spaces are on the above map. Lumberyard is a large parking lot where there is always space and very close by.
What to bring to your Charter Trip:
Bikini/Boardshorts, Sunglasses, Hat, Towels, Camera, Bug Spray, Sunscreen, Change of Clothes, Cover-Up/ T-Shirt, Lycra, Passport (for BVI), snorkeling gear. A dry bag/box for your wallet, camera, phone is also highly recommended. Some places we anchor will not have a dock so plan to get wet to and from the boat. If you want to bring your iphone / ipod, we can plug it into our sound system and play your favorite St. John Music.
For sunscreen, try to buy the reef-save versions that will not be toxic to the fragile underwater eco-system. Also, if possible, stick to white colored lotion(not the orange beta-carotene one), since the orange sunscreen leaves bad stains on the white cushioned seats of our boat, no aerosol sprays, either, please. Read more about how sunscreen containing oxybenzone destroys reefs here.
Pricing & Payment:
All our prices are including captain, fuel, water and ice. The only extra you have to pay is for the BVI customs and mooring fees. They change based on location and weekday but it is safe to plan with around 85$ per head. You can pay with cash, credit card or via paypal.
What about gratuity?
Your Captain has a lot of responsibility and is working hard to make sure you have a great day and are safe! Please tip accordingly.
We provide:
We provide a cooler with ice and drinking water. We also have the new Easybreath masks as well as traditional masks and fins which you are welcome to use for free. If you have a favorite set that fits really well, you might still want to bring it along.
Lunch, Food&Drinks:
For BVI trips, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to stop at. Let the captain know your preferences and he will find you the best place to eat. We can also pre-order food via VHF to save time. For St. John day and half day trips, there are not really any bars / restaurants with docks, except of course Pizza Pi.
You are welcome to bring your own lunch, we can put it into our coolbox with ice . Alternatively, we can provide you with Snacks, Food Platter or Sandwiches from an excellent local Deli. Just let us know what you would like to eat and if you have any special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian) and we will have it ready on the boat for you.
Planning your trip:
A valid passport is necessary when traveling to the British Virgin Islands, as it is required to check in with BVI Customs on arrival and then back into US when returning to St. John. All our prices are incl. captain and fuel, ice and water, but excl. BVI customs and mooring fees.
Souvenirs
We have some cool Rockhoppin’ Hats and T-Shirts. You can see all sizes and styles here. We can’t keep all sizes and styles on the boat, if you would like one, let us know the day before the trip and we will have it there for you.
End of trip:
The trip will end right where it started, in Cruz Bay at the National Park Dock
